i'm back from our weekly chapter meeting, and i have news!

first order of business.

i, kristin leigh, yours truly, have decided to further complicate my already full life of school, madpony, work, madpony, and school by accepting the nomination i received tonight to be an officer of my sorority in the year 2003.

i know, i know. how *do* i find the time?

please restrain yourselves from sending me amazon presents - i, unlike my sister and against the sound advice of our famous friend, am *not* a wish list whore. but feel free to send all letters of congratulations here.

second order of business.

being an officer means attending the swearing-in ceremony next week.

the swearing-in ceremony requires sexy, dress-up clothing. this is far outside the bounds of my usual wardrobe, which does not expand beyond jeans and t-shirts and the occasional dressier-than-a-t-shirt-but-not-in-a-constricting-way shirt for work.

and dress clothes can only mean one thing.

yes, new shoes.

as many of you know, this should not be much of an issue, seeing as how i work in the shoe mecca of norman, oklahoma. but when you are surrounded by hundreds of equally lovely and worthy shoes, one devastatingly huge problem does persist.

which shoe?

the shoe on the left, which i am pointing to, is the obvious favorite with me. extremely pointy, (yes, that is the big thing these days,) and yet classic enough that i might actually wear them a time or two after this one special occasion. these shoes could go to church.

however.

the shoe on the right is strikingly similar, but it has the added feature of a strap around the ankle. since, as i have stated, i am not exactly wearing sexy woman shoes on a day-to-day basis, i suspect a safety strap to keep them on might be a wise choice.

but i kind of like the ones on the left better.

such a dilemma.
