there is a plague descending on the fashion world which i simply must address before it gets even more out of hand than it already has.

the trucker hat.

now, i understand the idea behind it. i'm a big fan of the designer jeans with a vintage t-shirt look. it says "i'm expensive, but i have a personality!" add a trucker hat to this ensemble, and you simply become confusing. maybe this isn't the case in Hollywood or New York City or Expensive USA, but hats in oklahoma tend to be less of a fashion statement and more of a lifestyle statement. if you wear a cowboy hat in oklahoma, we assume you are from the sticks and most likely spend your days driving cattle across the open range. and if you don a trucker hat, we think you live in a trailer park when you aren't hauling tomatoes cross-country.

we've seen these hats for many years, my friends. the irony is simply lost on us.
