no, it is far bigger and greater than any of those things could ever dream to be (with the exception of perhaps the pickle-o's of classic 50's.)
the enrichment these people seek is in the form of knights, tents, fake sword fights, carnies, and grown-ups in costumes. the medieval fair.
i implored casey to accompany me to this unique festival, and after weeks of nagging he finally caved. we walked over to the fairgrounds and i began excitedly running from tent to tent, my inner-harry potter yearning to be free. one hour and a jumbo bag of kettle popcorn later, i left moderately satisfied and somewhat disturbed.
casey told me that taking my picture in this charming medieval hat was his sweet revenge for being required to attend the fair, but i think he was quite excited to go. after all, this occasion provided a rare chance to capture, on film, the most endangered of hair-style species. the glorious mullet.
i thought of displaying our mullet evidence on here, but i wanted to give everyone the opportunity to avoid actually viewing this ungodly beast. you have been warned.
exhibit T -->the T is for Typical, as this is the most common specimen of mullet found in these parts.
exhibit U -->the U is for Unusual, a mullet from a foreign land.
so, now that i've been to this legendary event, what is my advice to you?
unless middle-aged carnies in ancient drag are your thing, avoid the medieval fair like the black death.
and beware the mullet.
