but how can people say that i don't support the troops?
how could i not support those two fine young men on the right?
seriously though, i've discussed the war with several people lately - my parents, my professors, my friends, and my sorority sisters. (yes, sorority sisters.) anyway, each of these people have inevitably asked me my position on the war, and any disdain i express seems to often be met with the same reaction by those who are pro-war.
"how can you not support our troops?"
and i think that is the furthest thing from the truth, in the case of most young people who are less than enthusiastic about the war.
saying that i don't support the war doesn't mean that i don't support the people being sent off to fight it.
i know of several acquaintances from high school and college who are currently serving our country. a girl from the sorority across the street signed up for the military as a way to propel herself through college, and she leaves for iraq this week. the troops are our best friends and siblings and cousins and kindergarten classmates. how could you say that i don't support the troops? we *are* the troops.
but anyway. for the sake of madpony, i will attempt to dismount my soapbox. i can't think of a topic more serious than the war, and i can't think of a blog less serious than the pony. we aim to please, not to stimulate heated debate. all fluff, no stuff.
besides, my pro-bush, pro-war republican parents are threatening to pull the plug on my liberal tirades. what, you thought *i* paid for this? have i mentioned that i work in a shoe store?
but in true madpony form, and whatever your stance on the war, you simply must see this movie.
i laughed till i cried.
