ahh, london. we had a very eventful tuesday in the UK. despite the way-too-early flight which got us there, we had a lovely run-in with a couple of charming bloggers, a not so lovely bomb scare, and an innocent enough trip to see westminster abbey which culminated with our involvement in an anti-war protest. of course, i noted several things on our day in london.

1. upon leaving the underground, the first thing we noticed was the two-story burger king complete with an expansive and affordable internet cafe. casey threatened never to leave.

2. fish and chips. better than you think.

3. this holds for paris too, but paying to use a public restroom? come on.

4. the men of the UK set my heart afire. those boys certainly know how to dress. the sheer concentration of beautiful men on our train car into london had me questioning the exchange rate of an american boyfriend for a british one.

5. i particularly enjoyed the "look left" painted along the curb of every street crossing. i wonder how many americans were mowed down by traffic before they felt this measure had to be taken.

6. the underground was about a hundred times cleaner and less confusing than the metro in paris. but yay for public transportation as a whole. i don't suppose we'll be seeing any of that in oklahoma any time soon?

all in all, our trip was wonderful, despite a couple of minor glitches courtesy of dubbya himself. but more on that later.
