forgive me, sweet readers!

i'd love to blame my little hiatus from blogging on this being the week before finals, or "dead" week -- the word "dead" laced with extreme sarcasm since, though the week is intended to be test, quiz, and generally stress free, i have a massive test tomorrow and a project due friday

but i digress.

no, dear readers, i didn't abandon you for anything school related. of course, me being the girl who generally skips multiple classes to post, read, and comment, i imagine you realized my posting vacation was not due to me suddenly becoming little miss studious.

oh no.

i had the most fantastic weekend.

amazing.

wonderful.

as lauren would say, supah fly.

first of all, for those of you who haven't yet heard, my little school won the big game. big xii champions, baby. so most of my saturday was spent watching the game, celebrating, shopping, celebrating, eating with my folks, and dancing around (in celebration.) rose bowl or bust.

and sunday was my anniversary with casey, as demonstrated by our massively huge picture below. we had a lovely dinner together, and then we headed off to the movies.

to solaris.

sadly, the only low point of the evening.

solaris was horrible. not even george clooney's buns of glory could save this sad little film. first of all, these existentialist movies are just not my style. i didn't even halfway understand donnie darko until spending some serious time perusing the thousands of explanations and exaltations i found online. i especially don't like the dark, scary music they use so often in those movies. they leave me peeking at the screen through my fingers, waiting for someone to get hacked to death.

but besides all that, the movie was slow. slow, as in people were leaving the theater after the first 10 minutes. slow, as in me checking my watch at regular five minute intervals. casey-and-i-making-faces-at-each-other-to-pass-the-time slow. very slow.

then there was the leading lady, the highly disputed miss natascha mcelhone. while definitely creepy on some level, i think she's pretty in an exotic, foreign way. casey thinks she's pretty in a skeletal, unattractive way. you decide.

anyway, it was a fantastic weekend, but i'm back and ready to post full time again.
